About BESTtravels
BESTtravels is dedicated to providing quality walking
and cultural holidays in unusual and delightful places.
Our itineraries are always thoroughly researched and
tested and have proven themselves over the years. Where
we don't speak the language we work with local travel
companies who also have an excellent track record, to
ensure that the holidays flow smoothly and that participants
are well looked after, well informed and well satisfied
at the end of their tour.
Our walking program is hosted by Dave
Best. Dave was formerly a Director of Pyrenees Adventures,
and before that a town planner in Manchester. He has
been a Francophile as far back as he cares to remember,
and a lifelong walker. He has escorted walking programs
in Europe and Asia for a number of years and has travelled
extensively or lived in all the destinations to which
he takes trips. His enthusiasm for the itineraries,
wealth of knowledge, and desire for a quality cup of
coffee combine to make Dave an excellent travelling
companion and Tour Manager. A native of London, he moved
to Sydney, Australia in 1993.
