ITALY - The Amalfi Coast
Seven Days Guided Walking with Dave Best
About Our Tours:
Tour Overview - Trip
Outline and Full Itinerary
7 days of guided walks around Italys
beautiful Amalfi Coast. This is a new walking destination
for Dave and were accompanied by a very experienced
local Italian guide who knows the area intimately. We
spend the week in a delightful hotel in Scala, from
where we enjoy a program of fantastic walks during the
day, and enjoyable meals in the evening. If you have
walked with Dave Best in the Pyrenees, Vietnam, Bhutan
or New Zealand youll know his trips are
always enjoyable and fun!
The Amalfi Coast is a world within a world,
an area of great physical beauty and natural diversity.
It offers history, tradition and breathtaking views
along with modern comforts and delicious food. Its origins
date back to the first century AD when Roman aristocrats
built luxurious villas in this area and in time a number
of wealthy towns were established, such as Ravello,
Sorrento and Positano one of the most beautiful
and oldest of the Roman settlements. Positano was rediscovered
in the early 20th and its pastel coloured houses cling
to impossibly steep cliffs.
